Sunshine!

Here comes the sun, doo, doo, doo, doo, Here comes the sun, And I say, It's alright. . . . in the words of the Beatles song.  I'm playing it now as I write this.  No complaints at the wall to wall sunshine.  More please - the weekend looks to be sunny, so it will be bliss even though we will be inside at the Fleamarket on Sunday.

In between races at Aintree, I got out in the garden today and erected the plastic greenhouse with its brand new birthday-present cover.  I hope that one lasts a bit longer than last year's where the ties all rotted in next to no time.  I started off some runner beans, courgettes and pink nasturtiums in my little seed stack yesterday.  I think they were half cooked in there when I opened it up at lunchtime, so I will have to remember to open it right up earlier tomorrow.

What plans has everyone got for the weekend?

  1. It's so wonderful to see the sunshine and to be spending more time outside. We've planted some seeds this week. We have no idea what we are doing so keeping our fingers crossed.
Hope all goes well on Sunday. X

    1. Ah, we have had better trading days, I can say that much! We probably won't bother there again unless it's the end of the month, when folk have some money to spend.

  2. Weekend plans are a car boot and visiting Col who is stuck in hospital for the weekend plus watching GB lose (probably) the Davis cup quarter final and catching some sun on Sunday before the weather reverts to cold on Monday,
    Have a good market

    1. It was good seeing our friends, and that is about the limit of yesterday's goodness! I am sure seeing Col will have cheered him up and hope he is out for Easter.

  3. Sunny here but chilly! I have more seeds to start, but waiting for a day when I don't have to wear gloves.

    1. I hope you get some of our sunshine to share. It has been like falling into summer. Today it's been cold again though so we can expect snow at Easter at this rate!!

  4. Started loads of seeds, but have to watch the slugs in the cold frames. Going to a local birthday party in their garden this afternoon which should be fun.

    1. I swear by the organic OK with pets type slug pellets. Blasted things can get in anywhere. You had the right weather for the garden party.

  5. Yes we had a wonderful day yesterday and today is looking like shaping up for a good weekend, too even though a touch frosty this morning. We have some outside jobs to do, firstly new compost to be added to the new veg patch, and other places hopefully. Will fit in as MUCH as we can outside around other regular things we need to do.

    1. Your garden is looking brilliant, and you have all the energy and commitment I seem to have lost. Ah well, I've got a few things started now, but desperately need to get out and tidy up!

have been brushed aside by all the very kind friends who are determined to carry me through the next few weeks.

    1. At times like these Pat, good friends are what you need to help you through. My thoughts are with you too.
