Isn't this lovely? Just across the road from the church in Abergavenny.
Much as I want to go to Malvern, I am sat here this morning debating it. The trouble is I have a skewed mindset, thinking OMG I will die!! But it was very hot yesterday and I did 5000 steady steps and was ok until I started lugging cans of soup around. Tam says to go and just take things easy, especially as it will be hot later on but we are usually gone by about 11 a.m. Pam is driving me and pulling the camping trolley. I need to stay hydrated and go steady, but it would cheer me up no end (especially if i got that lead horse!!)
The blood thinners are just to stop me having a stroke. If I lie on my left side to sleep, I am woken by my heart racing. In the night I woke saturated with perspiration - there were wet patches on the sheet. Never had that so badly even when I had Flu or anything. I am wondering if it is Hyperthyroidism as well, as I have 3 markers for it. One of them is I have totally lost my appetite - that is not something I can easily control! I could walk past the most tempting patisseries at the moment and chocolate - forget it! I've lost 3 lbs in 3 days. (Which is needed, but not the ideal way to lose weight).
A duck display this time at Abergavenny Market.Gabby has done some research and is coming with me to the GP's on Wednesday, incase I don't take it all in - plus she has questions to ask! Wednesday can't come soon enough. I'm not good at resting. Some more photos of the market. Next post will be St Mary's Priory Church.
The stalls are a good mixture of things, but this was the only one with older bits and pieces. Several stalls with fruit and veg, one with records, there was jewellery, clothing, pictures, cushions, baked goods. Talking of which, I needed a loaf of bread - checked one bakers and a sourdough loaf in there was £5!!! I got a small granary loaf in Morrisons for £1.10 . . .
Oh and Lizzy I think, wanted the link to the French Brocante Youtube video. There you go my dear. Enjoy. HOW MUCH I want to go now!!!
I keep missing your posts as I've not been looking at the laptop later in the day.
ReplyDeleteHope you have decided what to do but whichever I hope you take things gently and the Dr visit answers questions.
I think I will go. I will see how I get on today - very humid here. Have to go to the Minor Injuries at Llandod shortly to get my dressing removed. Will see how I manage.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear you are not well and hope you feel a bit better soon and you get some help at the doctor's next week. Good idea to take someone with you. I often take my son with me as I never take anything in. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have managed today (in a humid 19 deg) and pulse rates seem lower and settled. Fingers crossed.
DeleteDo take it easy and be kind to yourself. Hoping you get all the answers to your health issues next week. Best wishes from Charmaine
ReplyDeleteI am not going to push myself, that's for sure. I shall be glad Pam's on trolley duty as that can be hard work sometimes.
DeleteI tried to comment yesterday but trouble with publishing, just wanted to say take care, I get palpitations too, not AF, yet, but runs in family x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon ( was Wales ) x
Hi Alison, glad you got through today. I thought the arrythmia I noticed before was down to the Montelukast tablets I'm on. Apparently not. Hope you don't go on to get AF.
DeleteBovey, do you have cardiac specialists where you live? I think you need to see one, my friend. Yes, blood thinners are often used with people who have arrhythmias but other medications are usually prescribed also, to bring the heart in rhythm again. The nurse in me doesn't like what I'm hearing. I think you should go to a specialist...and sooner rather than later. Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes, and I know the GP will get me booked in to see one. Right now he is waiting for the blood results to be returned, before any other meds are prescribed. I have to wait until next Wednesday to see him.
DeleteAs my pulse has normally be very low, and I don't have an abnormal BP, I don't think he can prescribe beta-blockers?
DeleteNo he shouldn't...Pirate couldn't have them as his resting pulse was low (quite usual for sports people of any age)
DeleteLovely market displays! That cheddar and deep red quilt is lovely. I hope you did go?
ReplyDeleteThe duckkks--taxidermy?--are a tad creepy, poor things.
Feel better! We will travel to the French markets, if only in our dreams. Thanks for the link.
You'll laugh when I tell you that the ducks are made from fabric and well-stuffed. They look very realistic. Malvern is tomorrow . . . watch this space.
DeleteI was shocked to read your post yesterday, You seem like such a strong and capable lady and news like that would scare the strongest of us. So glad that you have company for your appointment, I often find Stuff goes in one ear and out the other in a surgery situation. Best wishes for a good and speedy outcome x
ReplyDeleteYup, it wasn't news I wanted to hear! Gabs will help me sort things out.
DeleteHot weather really seems to do a number on us AFib folks. I got this advice from my consultant just a few weeks ago and that is to drink coconut water in hot weather. It is full of electrolytes which are lost if you are sweating or drinking large amounts of water. An inbalance in electroytes is a trigger for the heart to kick off into fibrillation. You can also use sports drinks (not the sugary kind) but I personally think the ratio in coconut water is superior. The left side thing is common, horrible feeling and of course left side sleeping is my go to position. Fingers crossed all goes well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for that Susan. I will get some tomorrow - a bit late to hit Co-op now as it shuts in 5 mins. Fortunately I bought a bottle of Lucozade (first time in years) yesterday so will reach for that tomorrow as it's got electrolytes in. Will fill the gap till I get to Tesco.
