A very positive day

I finished Mrs Cat Loves Knitting last night, and was pleased with the way she had turned out.

This morning I got going straight after breakfast.  We had a scheduled power cut for 3 hours, so I planned to go out for part of that time.  Here is the morning's tick list:

Change bed and put first load of washing on ready for power to return.  Tick.

Yoga.  Tick.

Use the Karcher Window Vac to get the condensation off the windows.  Tick.

Cold wash Seasalt dress, get worst of wetness off rolled up in towel and hang outside on to blow around a bit.  Tick.

Drive up the road to see K about the water supply.  Had a nice chat with his wife, and then K came back to the yard and said that my neighbour had helped sort it, digging down to the pipe - which had been pushed apart under the water pressure because of having a fox's brush of tree roots in it.  All sorted.  Tick.

Go to PO and pay in cheque.  Tick.

Get remaining stuff out of the car and tidy away.  Tick.

Empty clothes from suitcase and put in black bin liners.  Tick.

Look out next sewing project, and photocopy the patterns for the applique.  Tick.

Make a start on it (Christmas wallhanging), by cutting out backgrounds and tacking together.  Tick.

Phone auction for an appt. to drop some things off at weekend.  Tick.

Check attic for more "stuff" to go.  Tick.

Find another embroidery project to start - a lovely pre-printed alphabet one.  I have started doing the black grid dividing the letters/pictures.  Tick.

Whilst doing the latter I have been watching a lovely wildlife programme (series of 4): Hamza's Hidden Wildlife Isles.  I watched Spring and Summer.  Wonderful television.

Here is the alphabet.  It will be lovely to work on.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

    1. I rather think she will. I think I will make a little patchwork bag for her to be carried around in.

  2. That embroidery project looks lovely, I'm thinking I must find a cross stitch or something similar to do. I've done housework and changed the bed, hard work with the feather duvet, thinking about looking for one with the same tog, but lighter. Managed to rescue washing before the rain thrashed down. Spent the afternoon watching Cheltenham, jump season has started. Take care. Xx

    1. ARGH! Missed Cheltenham. I can't get live tv with my current aerial. I do miss the jumps racing and Keith used to watch racing so much, and was quite successful when he had a bet too.

    2. OH's Grandad was a huge race fan and my engagement ring was partly paid for by a tip he gave Alec. My Stepsister is married to Kevin Darley, a Champion flat race jockey, they live in Yorkshire. Xx

    1. Yes. The farmer up the hill can go shoot himself for all I care! Glad that Ed didn't have to dig too deeply.

  6. Your Mrs Kitty is darling, Rosie will love her. The sampler is lovely.

Your to do list is impressive, that all would take me weeks and some anxiety pills to accomplish.
I m going to try to add an IG link where the woman makes the most adorable doll/ animal clothes. She has patterns and tutorials, free I think. And another that is is just exquisote woodland creatures and clothes.

    1. I just got on with those jobs. None of them big or challenging. Making the bed the worst (kitties involved of course).

  8. So nice when big lists all work out well. The idea of making a little bag for Mrs Felt Cat is lovely.
I'm in awe of some of the craft talents seen on my favourite blogs - yours being one of them.

  9. I've just tried a prototype but may revamp it . . . I just sew things I can manage - sometimes they work out, sometimes not! I do like the hand-sewing best though - I'm more in control of that.

    1. A morning with no power = a morning without the distraction of the Internet! I often find that jobs I have been putting off, take just 5 mins or so when I set to and tackle them :)
