I have driven past this church many times, thinking, I really must stop and explore it. Well, on Thursday I did, on my way home from Borth. There is a wide pavement outside it, with the curb at road level, so a good place to park up.
I will visit again in the summer, and see what is growing here. God's little acre.
I couldn't find the light switch in the church, so these stained glass windows relied on outside lighting.
A few jars for the family anyway.
I managed to get the urine sample from Alfie that the vet requested (if I could catch him in the act) so dropped that down to the vet's this morning. Now they won't need to insert a needle into his bladder when he's having his teeth done (which is not without its risks). Did I say I went in and asked for the op to be done sooner as he wasn't eating much? Monday morning is now the day. I couldn't mention (without crying) that the wait and worry was really affecting me too. He is eating the Sheba with gravy cat food, but then all the others want that TOO!
Have a good weekend.

A lovely church visit post.
ReplyDeleteHats off to you for getting that sample, not easy!
The jelly is such a good idea, especially in these days of high food costs.

Time to grow your own according to a post on Facebook today, which showed humungus increases in imported vegetables.
ReplyDeleteThe jelly just cost pennies. Jams do too, if you can get reduced fruit from a greengrocers. I use the frozen mixed fruit from Tesco/Aldi and you get flavoursome jam which isn't just sugar with a bit of colouring which boughten can be. It's very easy to make.
Alfie went to the litter box and aimed, and I put a dish beneath him . . .
Well done on getting the sample from Alfie, its so difficult with cats. The gale force winds here are making Sheva very skittish and she's dashing round the garden up and over fences and back again. Its wearing me out watching her. Some plants fell in my trolley in Morrisons, but buy 3 and pay for 2 was a bargain. My cosmos seeds are poking through but no sign yet of the verbena. Hope Alfie's op goes well, I shall be keeping everything crossed. Xx
ReplyDeleteI've bought a lot of plants from Morrisons down the years. Young Clematis etc. I don't blame you. My Cosmos seedlings are coming on well and I shall prick them out and put them in individual pocket trays soon. I'll be glad when Alfie is back home tomorrow.
DeleteWhat a super church and great to see that the churchyard is a "Living Churchyard" to encourage biodiversity :)
ReplyDeleteI like the rood screen and angels in the roof. The jam looks delicious.
I hope all goes well at the vets on Monday.
Yes, I shall stop in the summer and see what wildflowers are growing there.
DeleteI seem to be wishing my life away recently, when it comes to having to face up to first my hospital procedure and now Alfie.
What a lovely church, I am hoping to see pictures of the church yard come the summer months to see what is growing. I do hope Alfie comes through the surgery just fine.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The Angels were a surprise, and the early glass. Poor Alfie - I wish I could explain to him what was going to happen.
DeleteYour church photos are just beautiful - I adore old churches. I hope Alfie gets well again very soon - it is hard on Us when our beloved pets are unwell too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am quite stressed and will be glad to have my lad back home again and able to eat properly once more. Glad you liked the church photos.
DeleteUsing frozen mixed fruit is a really good idea to add to the compost jelly. I must remember for next time
ReplyDeleteThe frozen fruit was for the Jumbleberry jam.
Deleteand meant to say hope Alfie gets through everything OK
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a worry when you have pets and both the boys are 16 this year.
DeleteA lovely church, the wooden angels are wonderful. I hope Alfie is ok, pets ah me they can be such a worry. Typical puss with regard food. Our old cat who we had for 20 years and who died last year would go mad on a certain (always the most expensive) food and I would stock up and then she would refuse to eat it, grrr! Take care Sue H
ReplyDeleteInspired by you, I bought sure gel. I have some fruit in my freezer and fridge that need to get gone! Compost jelly here I come!
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Alfie.
I hope everything goes well for Alfie today. ❤️xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a brutal church go visit , love the angels
