My house-trained bat . . .

This appeared in the litter tray this afternoon.  I can only assume it's escaped from under the roof - as they do when it gets very hot.  I have given it its liberty in the cool of a bush outside and saw it flying around a few minutes later.

I have been Very Good today, and ventured out to the Stables to start having a sort out.  I have gone through one big pine box which I shall use with a cover on in the Unit.  I've listed a few things on Marketplace, and when Tam is here tomorrow, will list the wheelchair and Mobility scooter on Fleabay.  I plan to sell the lovely late Victorian tub chair in my bedroom too.  I don't need it, but could do with the cash.

These are just the two end stalls.  Tbere are two more with barrels of Keith's "useful bits of chair parts".  I shall try giving these away on Marketplace, otherwise they are off to the Tip.

I sat down after breakfast with my stitch-ripper and then neatly edged the bottom strip of the little chair cushion, so it doesn't run off, as that was annoying me.  I can't WAIT to get started on the daily stitching project.  TONIGHT I hope!  I have bought down a little square of the linen I plan to use to see how it sews up with a design.

Now - Marketplace or the Unit?  I fell in love with this because of the beautiful carved wooden edging, BUT I can do without it.  It's a lovely bedroom chair, professionally reupholstered.

Hot here now, after a cooler grey start to the day.  I am quite tempted to go out for ice cream, now I have gotten a meal out from the freezer . . .

  1. Maybe try your Unit for the chair (which is lovely) for a month, then if it doesn't go Marketplace. Just been to daughter's where she was busily listing masses of Iris's outgrown clothes on Vinted. Some of it was sold before she'd even finished. Very hot here, changed our duvet to the 4.5 tog one and our winter one is airing on the line. Fun will be had when I try and get it into a vac pac bag. Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. Xx

  2. Well, that was what I thought. Golly gosh, my brain is racing round today - drank LOTS more water than usual so actually have some energy for once. Stuff does sell quickly on Vinted. I've never looked at it . . . yet! I couldn't bear the winter weight goose down duvet I have this winter - I was sweltering. Went to the autumn weight, but the summer weight one is on the guest bed, so may have to buy myself one for my bed to tide me over.

  3. Afraid I used the first morning of our heatwave to finish up a tub of ice cream for breakfast.
The only issue I have found with selling on Vinted are the five gorgeous SeaSalt tunic tops in linen that I've now become the owner of! All for £10 ~ £15 each!

  4. I will go out for some n a minute, before Tam and Rosie arrive. You have to buy things when they present themselves, and that's good value for those Sea Salt linen tunic tops.

  5. I would try the chair in your new unit first, then you have the option of Marketplace at a slightly lesser price in a month or so. Are you allowed bonfires in your area? Because a lot of your wooden things, (I mean the random chair parts etc ... not the furniture), could then be burnt instead of carted off to the tip, the wood ashes would be great for the garden.

    1. Can't have a bonfire on the orchard area because of overhead electricity cables (I have a pole at the bottom of the paddock). T'other triangle of land has trees. It's a bit too much to burn it in my incinerator.

  6. Trying things in the unit first makes sense...online selling is a lot of work.
That is a lovely bedroom chair.
