A poorly Lulu

The two quilts sewn together - you can see the brown strip, but whichever sides I sewed together, all were edged in brown as clearly she had lots of brown left over . . .  Name of Quilt, "Brown Stripe"!!  I clearly didn't have my thinking head on as that would have removed another strip either side, but then I would have been left with incomplete paler hexies.  Can't win I guess.  If I had just removed the valances, although generous, the single tops wouldn't have been sufficiently wide enough to go over a bed.

Lulu has had a very poorly upset tummy.  I'm not sure if it was the sachets of meat in gravy that did it as that has upset Pippi's tummy in the past, or whether she has just got an inflamed gut, but she was passing bloody diarrhoea last night and sicked up some slightly pink foam.  Needless to say all this happened well after the vet's had shut.  She spent the night on my bed, snuggled into my back as usual, purring, and has seemed quite bright this morning, and eaten some biscuits and a little of a different sachet.  I have tried to get an early (morning) appointment at the vet's but although I phoned dead on 9, when they open, all the morning appointments are already taken.  Just like the GP . . .  don't know how it happens unless people turn up on the doorstep to book animals in.

I will have to keep busy as obviously I am worried.  They said as long as she wasn't lethargic, she would be ok to wait.

It's often Pippi in the photos, but Lulu likes to be upstairs, that's her domain.  She doesn't often go outside either and when she does, she doesn't go far.  She would e perfectly happy to be a total house cat.

So now I have to worry until 3.30 when she is booked in.

    1. She's just gotten back from the vet's with an appetite and scoffed a third of a BIG chicken breast, shredded. That didn't touch the sides!

  2. Same system at my vets. Ring at 8am and ask for an appointment. I rang at 8.02 and got in for 10am. Mayze wasn't well. One jab to stimulate her appetite. Medicine to encourage her to use the litter box, £75. It worked and she is fine now. It's a worrying time for sure.

    1. My bill was £55, so could have been worse. Sorry that Mayze has been poorly too. Our pets are like our children.

  3. Brown Stripe is a good name for the quilt, it makes the brown seem very intentional. I hope Lulu is okay at the vets.

    1. That's what I was hoping, name-wise! Lulu didn't want to go back in her pet carrier and we had to take the roof off, and then we screwed up with the door fixing! She was very glad to be home.

    1. Allergic diverticulitis. Bad enough. I have binned the rest of that box of cat sachets.

  5. So sorry to hear about a poorly Lulu...that's so worrying. One of our cats was ill earlier this year...vomiting and diarrhea, he couldn't keep anything down (or in!)...after much veterinary expense it was decided he had chronic pancreatitis. He has to eat a special -- also eye-wateringly expensive - diet now, but he's fully recovered and better than ever so we're very grateful. I'll be saying my prayers that Lulu's issue is resolved in a more thrifty way! ~melanie

    1. Oh Melanie, that's not good. Lulu just had an acute problem, that was bad enough. I bet your cat's diet costs an arm and a leg, but needs must I guess.

  6. We'll all be waiting here thinking of Lulu. Although not easy, try not to worry too much.

    1. I wish I could have gotten her down there first thing, instead of having half the day to carry on worrying about her.

  7. Poor Lulu, hope she feels better soon and you get away with a lightish bill at the Vets. Miss Sheva came home today with a mouthful of feathers, I think from a Magpie, but no sign of a body/bits anywhere. Been to buy Alec new walking boots today from our little independent leisure shop - £50, which I thought was good as they will last him ages. Xx

  8. Perhaps she just got it as it flew up and was left spitting feathers! £50 for walking boots isn't bad. Pam and I were lookling at walking boots in the Outdoor store in Brecon last week, and most of them were "reduced in Sale" to around £150!!
