I'd never seen one before April this year when we were well hunting just over the Cornish border and the lady who lives in the converted chapel attached to St Lawrence's well in Lelant proudly showed me her clapper bridge over the stream at the bottom of her garden. My Devon roots are Moreton, Hennock, Bovey Tracey and then the female line is from the South Hams - Littlehempton, Totnes, Berry Pomeroy and Stoke Gabriel.
