Channeling Keith's tribal vibes today!

I am off to auction in a while.  Primarily to check out a glass front display cabinet which might do for my Unit display.  IF it is light enough for me to shift, and if it goes at the right price.  Unfortunately there are a lot of Oriental and some tribal items.  Keith loved tribal items as he always hoped he would get something rare and make a killing.  Sadly, the things he bought weren't rare and desirable, and I had trouble selling them!  However, there's me taking Lens photos and checking them out all the same :)

Lulu yesterday evening - checking out that the two screaming monsters had left!!

I had a lovely day with all the family here yesterday, BOTH my granddaughters, as Danny bought "I", and it was noisy :)  They got on well together.  They had Rosie's little tent and tunnel out in the living room and had a great time together.

Flying Rosie.

Chocolate Blackberry Brownies.  The Blackberries were commercial ones from a pack, and huge, so I popped them in the batter once it was in the dish.  I made a good Lemon Drizzle cake too.  They all went home with chunks of both (bar Gabs, who is still on her diet.)

Well, I started yesterday off absolutely wiped out - my legs did NOT want to walk anywhere.  I forced myself to bake the CBB's and then the Lemon Drizzle Cake, and then slept for 2 HOURS on the sofa.  I was having another nap later when Danny and little "I" arrived and woke me up!  Having my family here made all the world of difference though and I had more energy later on.

Right, time to put my loaf in the oven - it's been mixing and proving in the breadmaker for the last 3 hours.

    1. I will potter today. Lots of tomatoes to pot on in the greenhouse, and cucumbers too. A sit down this afternoon with my embroidery is planned.

  2. I love Brownies! You will not believe this, but I am baking today! Going to try baking Bara Brith in the Air Fryer, and a back up one going in the combi microwave.

    1. Good for you! Since starting this course, and doing your amazing walks in aid of Parkinsons research, you seem a lot more positive. Never tried baking a cake in the microwave.

  3. Some days I force myself to rest tho I am not a napper. Your baking sounds so delish and how wonderful to have evryone visit, even Danny and I.
I was always attracted to African tribal rt when I went to many fleas each week. No idea what was tourist trade, junky modern or artifact that should have remained in Africa. I'd only buy the beads. I hope Keith's lots sell and are one thing less to worry about.

The pavement under Lulu is interesting, a local kind of cobbles?

    1. I enjoy the baking, but not so much when I am that tired.

Ah, the tribal things in the auction were not Keith's but from a house clearance. There was some amazingly carved Anglo-Indian furniture which I was drawn to, but was Too Heavy for me!

Yes, I have a cobbled area around my stable yard - though the grass has covered it on one side. Yet another job to do!! The cobbles were there for the Victorian stables the other side of my yard, and in front of the top end (where the bank is) where the original house on the site was (demolished).

  4. I loved 'flying Rosie'. I bet she enjoyed being whizzed round. We have had Baby C today and he's getting MOBILE!. Turning over on his playmat and trying to crawl, but then shrieking as he gets stuck. We also picked Iris up from school and gave them all tea (not Baby C, he's just started on porridge). My holiday ironing is still looking at me! Hope you got the cabinet and at a good price. Alec's car passed the MOT, so good for another year. Take care. Xx

    1. Yes, I think all little ones love that. That's great news about Baby C . He sounds fun. Lovely to have Iris too. I do very little ironing these days. Until quite recently I always used to iron my duvet covers - now I just do the pillowcases!

I decided against the cabinet in the end - so much breakable glass in it. THink I need a lightweight wooden one!
