Granny Juice

That, according to Rosie, is what my little bottle of wine is. Love it!

Tam and Rosie arrived yesterday, and we are meeting Gabby in Hay-on-Wye for a Mother's Day meal later.

This lovely book arrived yesterday and I began reading it straight away. I am really enjoying it .

It was sunny and warm yesterday and I cracked on clearing tussocks of Couch grass - by gum, they are stubborn.  Anyway, the last 4 Glen Doll raspberries are now planted and fed, and I put a load of muck heap on the Three Rhubarb plants .  Progress.  My garlic is coming on well. I utilised a broken storage box that Keith had used for militaria and put some drainage holes in the bottom. The garlic is hard neck garlic and said to plant in spring. I've always planted in winter before.

Right, this won't do. Need to get a bath and a hair wash and put the seats back up in the car and Rosie's car seat in.

Happy Mother's Day.

  1. Happy Mothering Sunday and hope you enjoyed your lunch with 'the girls'. Mine bought me a beautiful pot of mini daffodils with a Denby pot to put them in. Shame Denby have gone into administration. Wet and horrible here after yesterday's sunshine, but we managed to make a start on raking out the moss and spiking the lawn. Take care. Xx

    1. How lovely to have flowers and a Denby pot. It was raining on and off yesterday and we couldn't fit into the last space in the car park at the pub.

  6. When my parents used to come and visit me when my children were small Mum used to buy a bottle of whisky duty free and have a drop topped up with water at about the time I was cooking dinner in the evening. My then 4 year old daughter asked what it was and was told Grandma's medicine so from then on when I started to bang the pots and pans she of course asked Grandma if it was medicine time. My daughter is now 49 and mother of four teenagers, she is my youngest child. We had our 55th wedding anniversary last Friday. Happy Mothers Day. From Shirley in Perth in OZ.
