Plans on hold

Well, we have had to postpone Rosie's birthday outing as it is very cold, sleeting and hailing.  NOT the day for a zoo trip, especially as she woke about 20 times in the night, so is tired and will be frazzled .  Tomorrow looks like being better.  Just when we thought spring had arrived too.

I have made a loaf of white bread, and done a quick shop - mostly Aldi, with a few things from Tesco.  I must have read Sue in Suffolk's mind, as first thing (having spoken to Tam, who changed our outing plans) I got the bag of lemons and orange peel out of the freezer to defrost with the intention of making Compost Bin Jelly.  Snap, Sue!  I was going to buy another bag of mixed berries for Jumbleberry Jam but Tesco have changed the fruits to mostly cranberries with half a dozen strawberries now, and the price has gone up.  Back to Aldi to check theirs then.

I bought different coloured buttons for E. Bunny's eyes so may change them (blue or black).  I am going to get my late friend Annie's Teddy out of the cupboard to finish knitting that this afternoon.

  1. That is very spooky - I didn't know mind reading could travel so many miles from West to East!!

  2. Indeed! I mean - I was going out all day today initially! Just happened to see the peel etc in the door and thinking last night, that needs using up. Plus the last two jars of berry jam going to Tam, so I need to replace that too.

  3. March has been an especially hard month to endure here, too. Roll on spring!

Poor little Rosie has had a time of it, hasn't she?

    1. You've had a lot of bad weather haven't you? When does spring usually arrive? Rosie has been in the wars, and now her birthday trip put back a day to Birthday Plus 1 . . .

  4. Sleet and hail would not have been ideal for a zoo trip. Jam sounds better!

  5. I hope you get some decent weather for your visit to the zoo. If you've been before you'll find it much reduced as it is just domestic animals now. (The insects, reptiles apart from the giant tortoises, and other animals such as the wallabies can only be seen on the VIP days due to licencing restrictions). Afterwards you could visit the really nice playground by the Hall. It's the next turning along with a sign for the launderette. Toilets in the hall if it's open or next to the RNLI.

    1. It's planned for tomorrow, so let's hope . . . Not been before. Rosie will just be glad to make a fuss of any animals. Thanks for the info Ruta.

  6. Dear Bovey Belle,
What a lovely thing to see that you've joined us at LAWN TEA blog!! I appreciate that so much, for I've never corresponded in any sense with anyone from Wales, and though I've seen the word often, had to look up how to pronounce POWYS. What a lovely soft comfy-sounding place to live, like pronouncing a rare sweet bite so pleasing to the tongue!

I'm so glad to see that you have a blog, as well, for I was "out of touch" for several years from just before COVID until this past year, with losses and family health; I'm just now getting back into a little posting---shamefully, sometimes a few repeats by request, as the new folks were not familiar with all the old times back to 2008.

I'm loving all the syllables and L's that populate your world; words have always been such good friends, and the lovely names and words are simply so charming and sweet to the eye, as well as to the ear. Thank you for joining our tiny group, and I look forward to delving into your own doings and days. racheld

  7. The weather is what it is, and not much we can do, whether we like it or not. It's such a shame it spoiled the special day out, though, but tomorrow might prove a far better day.

  8. It snowed here today, not for long but is was coming down fast for a while. Plus the wind yesterday which brought down another fence panel in the garden.

  9. According to our weather website, we will be getting rain and snow over the Easter weekend. Yuck!!! Sure hope it changes. I hope Rosie has a better sleep tonight and that the weather improves for you.

    God bless.
