Today I have:
Done one load of washing (heavy linen duvet cover).
Washed my hair.
Researched about a dozen items, which takes longer than you would think. Lens helps a lot though.
Been in my secret cupboard to look for some pieces of studio pottery - it meant moving heavy boxes about, great fun!
Found all the other items I wanted to take to the Fair and loaded them. Lots of different trips and careful planning/packing. Keith was so good at that, bless him.
Taken compost out and litter tray contents (it's so wet and muddy in the orchard).
Polished a gallon copper Victorian harvest jug.
Polished a copper belly warmer (used on stagecoaches, back in the day).
Made a lovely crusty half and half loaf.
Made a Chocolate Apple Cake to thank my neighbour for bagging up some well-rotted muck heap for me.
Made a Spicy Dorset Apple Cake (and eaten a piece!)
Done three lots of washing up and drying up.
Walked 4,000 steps around the house doing all this.
I am absolutely shattered now, but still have to make a chicken curry for my own "ready meal" on Saturday and Sunday, when I come home late from the Fair. Tomorrow will test my upper body strength . . .

That does sound busy - good luck at the fair!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie. Yes, I do hope so. Just a few big pieces would help . . . or lots of little ones. Forecast is non stop rain all weekend though . . .
DeleteA sit down is well deserved. Good luck with the Fair.
ReplyDeleteYes, just trying to get my brain around knitting E. Bunny's bonnet but keep getting distracted.
DeleteYou've been very busy. I've been a lady wot lunches, meeting up with old schoolfriends, we've known each other since we were 12 apart from one and she joined when we were 15. Lots of chatter, laughs, photo showing and do you remembers. Its about a 45 minute drive, me from Belper them from Stafford, but such a good time. Hope your fair goes really well. There seem to be a few held round here, Markeaton Park or the Derby Conference Centre. Hugs Xx
ReplyDeleteOverdone it as I was exhausted by teatime. Still, the curry is cooked now and in the fridge. Glad you had a lovely time meeting up with old schoolfriends. You can't have moved too far from where you grew up. I'm nearly 200 miles from my home town.
DeleteFebruary has never been a good month for Fairs, so I won't hold my breath. It will be nice to see old friends though.
I failed at the first. When I emptied the washing machine I couldn’t find the white duvet cover. Not anywhere. In winter I wash and tumble dry the bed linen and then remake the bed. I have got another one out.
ReplyDeleteHello and welcome. Sorry you had a fail at finding the white duvet cover. It's normally single socks which go missing! A duvet cover is quite an achievement!! No tumble drier here - no room for one - so everything goes on the rails in the Utility.
DeleteIt was under the pillows, white under white! It is so grey and overcast here in The Midlands, with all of the rain, dark enough to need a light on to read in the middle of the day.
DeleteGlad you found it. Our old house was SO dark, we had to have the lights on all day every day in the winter, as it faced East. Here it is much brighter - we face South and have big windows.
Deleteon a roll!!
ReplyDeleteYes. Not a restful evening though as lots of Messenger chats with my girls over family matters.
DeleteOoooh! Are we off to the Botanical Gardens this w/end? I'm sure my PA and friend said there is an antiques fair there this weekend. She wanted me to go with her But you will know very well how trying a day that could be for me, but all the same I was sorely tempted because I know when those weekends happen you go there and it would be such a treat to meet! keep a lookout for a very pretty girl {At my age everybody's a girl these days} with jaw length very dark auburn hair, quite petite very stylishly dressed and quite possibly carrying a pug in a baby sling. Puggy's name is Buddy and he is precious.
ReplyDeletePLEASE do come along. You get so few days out (any?) Yes, it's the Botanical Gardens Fair. You don't have to see it all - I know the stalls in the house seem to go on forever! I am in the dome, next to Mr Bebb, who sells lovely paintings - towards the far end if you come in the main door. I may not do this one again as it's the two winter Fairs only and the weather can be offputting. Will look out for your friend anyway and hopefully you too.
DeleteReading your day was interesting. You fitted a lot in, even baking. You certainly know how to push yourself, heaps more energy than me. Enjoy the fair and sell, sell, sell. Rachel x
ReplyDeleteI am glad I had sufficient energy to fit it all in, but by teatime I was pretty shattered and slept 10 1/2 hours last night! Oh, hoping for sell, sell, sell!!!
