This made me really laugh!
Tam has sent me masse of photos of Rosie - this one made me laugh SO much!!! I needed that laugh too - am just SO low and down in the dumps again today and have achieved so little . . .
Isn’t Rosie just so damn cute, made me laugh out loud too, needed a laugh at the moment as trying to cope with ill relatives so thank you for this post. Jan in Castle Gresley
I would like to state that my hands are NOT that huge btw!! I am glad I gave you a laugh too, and hoping that coping with your ill relatives isn't too overwhelming.
You have achieved something. Firstly you posted a lovely funny pic of Rosie and secondly you posted the recipe for chocolate apple cake for which I am very grateful! Positive thoughts from Anon in Wiltshire
Halloween costume: "Desperate Housewife" Isn't she just so cute! Little overall rompers or shorts version would be fun and easy to make, easier than dresses? I'm so sorry you are feeling low and hope it's a beautiful Fall day there to cheer you up.
Bless her, she likes to be involved in everything, and loves to wash her hands. I've got the patterns for a couple of easy dresses. Shorts would be fun too. Weather grey and miserable, with heavy rain and wind later!
I have to say, they have lasted absolutely AGES, and I must look out some more as they are a million times better than Marigolds.
No, I know - I did vacuum too, and do a tiny bit more family history, and some dancing yoga and the merest bit of meditation (wasn't in the right mood for that).
Sometimes there’s not much to be done about down days but just muddle through them, trying things (listening to upbeat music, going for a walk, snuggling under the blanket with a good book, phoning an old friend — or a new one who might also be feeling in need of a boost, crafting a simple low-stakes project, going out to somewhere there’s people, binge-watching a favorite series, etc) until you find something that helps just a bit…. So much sympathy to you — it IS hard!
They do grow quickly. She is adorable, and has her own language (apart from all the words she has learned) but no one else is party to it, even though some of her statements are SO earnest!
Every day that you rise from your slumber you achieve something- whether it’s feeding yourself , your cats , posting on your blog . Please don’t underestimate the energy and determination it takes to get out of bed each morning, when it would be so much easier to stay in bed and not face the day
Life following a huge bereavement is hard - particularly when you are now living alone ( as I am for the first time in my 60 years ). Please don’t underestimate all that you do and the energy it takes to do it
True enough. Achieved a bit more today - shopping incl. the cat food for whilst I'm away, and collecting something unsold from the auction and leaving another old musket to hopefully cover its investment a few years back.
It's the being alone which is so difficult. My cats are my family too and making my going away for so long, very difficult.
I hope that like here ,you have some beautiful sunshine , we both live in such a beautiful part of Wales. I can see a panorama of trees from where I sit. I am sure it helps our healing. I kne some one who had no job and felt he was therefore worthless, then one day je decided to write down every thing he did each day. He was amazed at how much he actually accomplished. I hope the rest of your day goes well. Kathy
I think there are so many jobs we do automatically, without realizing (litter tray emptied twice today etc!) and I plan to sit down with my embroidery later, which cheers me up. We had some sunshine today and I got outside in it, so that helped.
I just wish I didn't feel 10 years old, and At Home Alone, which is the current state of mind.

ReplyDeleteAnd I did do the post on St Peter's - which took ages, even though I left a pile of photos out. Enjoy that choccy cake.
DeleteThat is so precious. I'm glad it made you laugh, we all need these little moments and children are so good at giving them to us. xx
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for the photo of her dressed up as a pumpkin . . .

practice for Hallowe'en?
ReplyDeleteShe was to be dressed as a pumpkin, I believe. I haven't seen a photo yet though.
DeleteWhat a little cutie! She would cheer up the dreariest, most miserable of days.

I am a doer, and have got things done, including an industrial quantity of washing up at Tam's yesterday!!
DeleteRosie is such a cutie. Enjoy the pictures and take it easy on yourself.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I just want the list of things to do was done, and the weight of travelling alone behind me.
DeleteThat is adorable picture of the little grabby girl. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteShe does like playing with water. She loves going to the swimming pool too. I am NOT a water baby at all.
