The house looks a little wobbly in my photo - almost like a dreamy image. I didn't walk far - just up the hill towards our Reservoir, but the views are good and how I enjoyed it. First proper walk I have had since becoming ill - just over 1/4 mile each way, but it was so good to get out.
I am so lucky to have such beautiful views on my doorstep.
I had one foot in the tyre mark, and one in the deeper snow, for balance. It wasn't icy. Only two vehicles had used the road - one up and one down. A 4x4 without doubt.
The sun hasn't melted the snow on the trees yet, although it felt quite warm on my face. We are due rain tomorrow and Weds and then 4 days or so of snow so I will get out when I can and top up the store cupboard.
I have given up on the beautiful jigsaw. When I had to get a magnifying glass to read the tiny writing on the pieces, I knew I was on a loser. A shame, as it was so lovely. I will look for a 500 piece one in the charity shop that my eyes can manage!
Beautiful, with or without snow!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely area around here. I never tire of looking at the hills.
DeleteAt least you are feeling better. Apparently this new mystery virus is called Adenovirus, and seems to have all the symptoms you had. A lot worse than the flu apparently. We have had a sprinkling of snow, but the Councils seem to have been very lax about grit spreading. Take care. Xx
ReplyDeleteDefinitely improved, but still blowing my nose. Yes, that seems to be the virus I have had. Haven't been this poorly in a long time. The Council won't grit our side roads, so I have to wait until enough traffic has been up and down before I can go out.
DeleteYour snowy day is very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are feeling better at last.
ReplyDeleteGlorious photos - thank you
Very cold as well Lizzy!
ReplyDeleteWeather seems more extreme in recent years--the wind, the cold. I thought Wales was green all year and snowdrops bloomed in January.
DeleteIt was a very very dry summer this year, unusual. Wales is green but the high ground (mynydd) got scorched by the constant sun this year. Snowdrops often in January.
DeleteYou are right, your views are beautiful. Is that a lot of snow for you?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
About as much as we normally get - but then I've only lived here 5 years. It certainly is normally drier than Carmarthenshire, throughout the year.
DeleteI think I would be limited to a 500 piece jigsaw these days, it's bad enough having to keep putting my reading glasses on and off without having to get out a magnifying glass. Sadly, I can't do any jigsaws at the moment as I don;t have a suitable surface to do one on, and getting down on the floor for any length of time is a big no-no.
