Isn't this gorgeous? My friends who were staying at Ed's loaned it to me back in October. I have finally gotten around to making a start on it. Mind you, I have some hairy helpers . . .
Pippi had to be persuaded it wasn't a good place to sleep for the afternoon . . .
I feel that I am on the mend again now (dare I write that and tempt fate?) At any rate, sinuses not so bad and I have more energy. I've done all the necessary outside jobs this morning - compost, recycling, litter tray etc and as it is so bitterly cold, I am inside the rest of the day. It was meant to snow at 11 a.m. - we had but a few small flakes about 11.20. However, Carmarthen has a fair bit of snow, and the A road to Lampeter is pretty snowy though passable at the moment. Heavier snow further north too. So far, we have been fortunate here. I plan to go for my grocery shop in the morning, so let's hope it doesn't come down heavily in between. Update - 4 p.m. and main road to Aber now closed due to a crash . . .
Oh, and now it's snowing . . . I have pulled curtains shut, closed my shutters again, and shut doors on front bedrooms which have big windows and will cool house down.

Darling cats--always ready to 'help!'
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!!
ReplyDeleteI've given up on jigsaws as Miss Sheva is always very happy to 'help'. Mostly by playing with the pieces, carrying them off and leaving them in different places, the bath and a plant pot so far. No snow here in Belper, although Derby, only 8 miles away has some. Its perishing cold though, I've only been to the bin. Glad you're feeling better. Xx
ReplyDeleteIt's the same when I am making a bed. The moment they know I am up in the bedroom, the girls come and "help". I have had to cover the 3/4 done border with a large piece of cardboard . . . Perishing cold here, and quite happy to stay indoors. I've pulled upstairs curtains, shut front bedroom doors (we have BIG windows here), and pulled the shutters across in my bedroom again. Makes a difference. Derbyshire normally gets a good hit of snow - can remember trying to drive from Uttoxeter to Sheffield to pick Tam up from Uni . . . NOT fun.
ReplyDeleteCats do their own thing despite whatever you are trying to do!
ReplyDeleteI have a jigsaw to start after Grandchildren are here tomorrow.
I have been looking for the sort you do (can't remember maker) in our charity shops, but no luck so far. Will keep looking out.
DeleteLulu's eyes are such a deep, deep blue. I am glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI often read but have never commented . Hope you are finally on the road to recovery. I am a widow too - my husband died in March 2023 and life has not been a struggle since . My rescue cat , Milo , a handsome Tuxedo boy , has been a great source of comfort
ReplyDeleteSiobhan
Hello Siobhan. Lovely to meet you "in person" so to speak. I am sorry to read that you too are widowed. I hope that Milo prevents you from being too lonely. I would be so lost without mine. Please keep in touch - it's good to chat, especially in the dark grey days of January and February.
DeleteMakes me laugh when pussies decide to park themselves right in front of you. I am often rushing to do something on the computer because Mayze demands my attention. Yours are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThese two are sisters, and up to all sorts of mischief. They are half Siamese, which ups the ante I reckon. Wouldn't be without them though.
ReplyDeleteYour Mayze likes to be in the picture too doesn't she? Kate at the Last Homely House has the same problem with her cats when she's making videos.
