I survived

I'll post properly in the morning, but just to let you know I got home safely, and am just cooking my meal.  J in Wilts - I have a medium glass of wine to celebrate. I didn't make a mint but covered my costs and got a weeks' shopping from it.  My antiques tribe were wonderful today - lots of hugs and kind words and support (no one went and hugged or even chatted to the cowbag!)  She can't NOT have noticed or me taking cake to Mike (beyond her) and other friends.  She clearly thought I was a stranger and didn't know I knew everyone.  Before I left I made sure I told her that perhaps in future if she had a problem with the dimensions of her stand, she should talk to the organizer.  She kept talking whilst I was talking to her, so probably missed the gist of "you can't cut my throat and put a sticking plaster on it" as I was being told off for pointing my finger at her!

I  will answer all your kind comments tomorrow.

  1. I'm glad you made it home safely and that at least you came out on top with the sales. A good thing that everyone else was so kind and helpful and I'm sure that mean old cow won't be getting any help from the other sellers. She certainly doesn't deserve any.

    1. We used to make £1,200 to £1,500 at this Fair when I had my little business pre-Covid. People are feeling the pinch, but really, January brings ALL the bills for the Christmas spending so it is probably the worse month to have a Fair. That said, people were buying jewellery - quite expensive jewellery a that . . .

  2. Glad that you got home safely, and sales went better since your last post. The cow is just that a cow and not worth bothering about. Enjoy your wine.

    God bless.

    1. Not huge sales by any means, but at least it is done now, thank heavens. No-where NEAR her next time.

  3. I'm glad that you made it home safely, and it sounds as if you had a successful weekend after all, which makes me happy. I do have one question though...exactly what finger were you pointing at the cowbag?

    1. I didn't hurry, as it was getting dark when I left the Fair, and I had a slow van in front of me from Llandovery to Builth, but just tootled along behind.

Hah - clearly it was the WRONG finger!!

  4. Hope it's put that woman off from ever doing another fair so you don't come across her again and thank goodness for all your long-time friends.

    1. Oh no, I'm sure she'll be there next time, although B (whose Fair it is) said cowbag had said she'd never do the Fair again, and B said good riddance! We'll see.

My long time friends were wonderful yesterday and THEY all knew how difficult it was for me to do this Fair again, first time without Keith beside me.

  5. I'm glad you ended up with some money in your pocket and that your friends rallied round. I hope Karma will catch up with cowbag somewhere down the line!

  6. I’m glad to hear that all is good and that you are ok! She, ( ‘cowbag’) sounds a very impolite individual and needs a lesson in manners,if you ask me…happy to come and give her that lesson if you like! 🤣

  7. I'm so glad that you got home safely, and that all your wonderful fair friends stuck up for you and let cowbag know very clearly that you are one of the gang and she isn't. Now she never will be, some people are just horrible aren't they.

  8. So happy for you that you made some profit and next week's shopping is paid for. Hopefully 'Cowbag' won't return. Do you think antiques like fashion have their turn, jewellery one year, china the next etc. My Dad dealt in antique pressed glass and maps, good when he did it but the stock we got left with when he died, couldn't shift, so its stored in my stepsister's loft for now. Xx
