Well, it was an early start - I was up at 5.30 and left 6.15, arriving 7.15 - and it was busy, busy, busy already! I was very relieved to find there were several strong young men to help carry my boxes in (they do it for everyone), and again at going home time, they did it in reverse. Phew. That was my biggest worry - carrying boxes upstairs.
As you can see I had a lovely spot - in fact, I think it is the best spot in the building! Delighted to get it and to be back there again next month. I didn't make a fortune by any means, but it was busy all day with a steady flow of customers and I will tweek the stock next month.
The best thing was seeing all my old friends, and chatting as of old.
Chatted with lots of visitors too, and with the 3 other ladies I was up there with. Some of the pieces I sold were, believe it or not, 10 years in my possession! and others definitely pre-Covid.Now I need to just unwind as my body is telling me it is tired. Enjoy your weekend everyone.
I see some intriguing items in your photos and congratulations on the sale success.
ReplyDeleteIt was a pleasant day and good to clear some of the older things which had been around since 2014, when I had a Unit.
ReplyDeleteYour stock looks lovely, but, if you don't mind me saying, I think the heavy pattern of the paisley design cloth detracts from the pieces a bit. Sorry, I know a stall layout is very personal and I used to get carried away sometimes adding to mine, but occasionally at a busy fair it is nice to see a simply laid out stall that gives the eyes a rest from lots of busyness and focuses you on what you might like to buy.
ReplyDeleteRight, now I'll back out of the room. ;-)
I'll try it without. I think price was the most important thing at this Fair - sales were all £30 and under.
ReplyDeleteSecond picture, to the far right, you show two chickens. What are they made of?
ReplyDeleteThey are painted wood. When bought, they'd managed to knock the top of the tail off one, so I have glued it back on.
DeleteOoooooooh, would I have gotten into a LOT of trouble at your table, Bovey!! That bread board in the window would have been the first to go. :-D Glad you had such a lovely spot...and sturdy help too. ~Andrea xoxo

DeleteTwo strong helpers made a big difference. The bread board is lovely isn't it? Someone will fall in love with it soon.
DeleteThe coloured crystal wine glasses would have fit right into my collection
ReplyDeleteYour layout and wares are lovely. I liked the presentation w/out the distraction of the militaria. The breadboard was my choice too. And the interesting bowl or colander w tiny treasures. I's so glad you had a good event and enjoyed time w friends and customers.
