I CAN FLY!!

Saw the GP this afternoon and asked if being on Apixaban would stop me flying, and said I had been planning to go to NZ.  He said nope, you can fly anywhere without any risk of blood clots . . .  What a relief!  Have to finish the course of antibiotics and wait for the blood test results from today to come back and then I will need an ECG.  Got the nurse to take my dressing off and then I came back and soaked the sticky strips off and just have a good plaster on it now.  I cancelled tomorrow's early appt. at the MIU at Llandod.  Had to, as I my car decided it wouldn't start when I nipped up to Co-op this morning for some apples and a cucumber.  I had to call out Green Flag, who checked it and pronounced a dead starter motor, and bump started it and followed me to the garage where I pleaded them to fit it in as I was going to a Fair on Saturday.  Despite dire prognosications of them being flat out and having no room but they would "try",  it was on the ramps when Gabby and I drove past so I hope it will be finished tomorrow.  It is clearly getting to the stage where I need to think about changing it, but since half of the components are now new I will hold fire a little longer. Still waiting for the £7,000 the Tax Office owe me . . . That would buy the replacement.

For some reason we always called this nickie-noses when the kids ere little - she really scrunched mine!!  LOVE her to bits.

  2. 'Car troubles' are a huge bother to say nothing of the expense. Back in the day when J. was so often working away if a vehicle was going to 'act up' it waited til he was out of reach.
Our 2013 Honda has quite a few miles to its credit--the only trouble its ever given us was when the battery needed replaced.
I'm seeing a hint of red in Rosie's hair--that will be so pretty!

    1. Isn't that always the way? As the body and chassis is still perfect, no rust, I will soldier on a little longer. Better the devil you know and all that. Danny got completely ripped off with his first car - "regularly serviced" - total pack of lies and the short warranty did not include any of the engine parts which subsequently failed. I will have to go car shopping with a male neighbour . . .For advice and not to be an Old Woman Alone car shopping . . .

Her dark hair has lightened and yes, we noticed red highlights when she was tiny. Keith's grandmother had red hair - though it turned white overnight with the shock of losing her husband and her brother within a fortnight in WWI.

  3. Isn't Rosy the most adorable and so tiny still! Someday you'll tell her about how when she was a baby she had this big fan club, all over the world, people who never met her but love her too. Imagine that.
I know I am bossy, sorry, but when that 7000L comes you must buy a new car. New w a warranty. You could research what is cheap and good [Kia? Honda?], or buy a Jeep or a Land rover that will last until Rosy is middle aged.
What is MIU that you cancelled?
So happy you can fly and hope your bloodwork is a good result.

    love

    1. She's very petite. I shall certainly tell her about her world-wide fan club. She already has the old ladies manning the charity shops in Aber giving her freebies!

Yes, new-ER car on horizon. Chassis and bodywork still great on the Nissan though. Can't afford to buy from brand new. That would take all my savings. Landrovers are extremely desirable these days and beyond my budget.

MIU - minor injuries unit, to take the last dressing off and advise. Got it done by the Nurse at the surgery yesterday and am down to a plaster now.
