The sun was awfully hot - and bright - when we visited Mottisfont Abbey on Monday (my best friend's birthday treat). I fell in love with this rose - Williams' Double Yellow I think it is. Now added to my "want" list.
There will be lots more photos - probably on Saturday - but meanwhile, here are a couple more roses and a New Forest foal.
Back soon.
Beautiful header, flowers down South are much more forward than those up here in the North. Lovely birthday present, you are blessed..X

ReplyDeleteI love roses, especially small white ones which attract bees. That one looks beautiful against the old brick wall.
ReplyDeleteI love roses and will be looking for some more for autumn planting. That yellow is glowing and may have to go on the look for list. I also want the scented clematis from Chelsea, but have not started to look yet.
ReplyDeleteNo roses out up here yet. I love those old fashioned single ones - usually with a delightful scent. What a delight that foal is.
ReplyDeleteI have such lovely memories of Mottisfont Abbey, not to mention photos, went there when we visited friends in South Hampton. Even saw a water rat on the river.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful roses. I`m looking forward to the next instalment!
ReplyDeleteI saw a few more foals today, on the way to Beaulieu, but there are not many being born on the Forest this year.
Glad you are safely home. Lucky you visiting Mottisfont, I've never been there. The roses are beautiful and so is the foal!
