The First Celendine!

I found it on my walk today, up near Lady P's.  It looked a bit shell-shocked (we've had some frosts this past week), but a delight to see it.

  1. I remember collecting celendines for my mother for Mother's day when I was young. I haven't seen them over here. Lovely.

    1. Hi Susan. What a lovely memory. What a shame they don't grown in NZ.

    1. Aren't they pretty? When there are lots and lots of them out, they are absolutely splendid.

  3. Oh pretty. I love the cheeriness of celandines and their heart-shaped leaves. I have a rough patch of grass under trees opposite my front door and soon that will be sprinkled with celandine - and the odd crocus the squirrels leave for me!

    1. I hope your Celendines are out soon, and the crocuses too. Any news on the house purchase?

  4. Wonderful to see - I usually check a ditch out by Packwood House but they flower later than January there.

    1. I am hoping it means we will have an early spring. I am SO fed up with winter already, but only another 6 weeks . . .
