Rhossili Bay walk

Just a couple of photos to tease you.  Yesterday a friend showed me the most beautiful walk (about 4 miles) around Rhossili Bay on the Gower Peninsula, just West of Swansea.  This is the beach at Rhossili Bay and is a LOT more than mere "seaside".  Apparently it is the best beach in the UK, according to a recent poll, and one of the top ten in the world!  All on our doorstep.

Looking towards Worms Head.

There we are, that's up to the point and looking along the next stretch of coastal path.  MAGIC.  Absolute MAGIC.

  1. Wow - it's just beautiful. I THINK I was there somewhat drunk and tired during the 198? National Student Drama Festival at about 3.00am but it could have been a different beach....it was a bit foggy......I think....

  2. Em - we'll forgive you not remembering then! There were lots of Blue butterflies about the place, and the wild flowers were gorgeous. I would have loved to have just sat down with a beer and totally chilled . . .

Pat - it was pure magic from start to finish - the weather, the place, and my good friend with me and finding I was able to walk again, tackle the short steep bits - ok I ran out of puff and stopped on the way, but I did them all the same. And all the wildlife too . . .

  5. Gorgeous beach, used to camp somewhere around there and I can still remember the thyme on the footpath.
