We just HAD to get some sea air last week, and on Friday we drove down to Llansteffan. The car park was busy but we managed to find a gap with a couple of spaces so weren't crammed in either side. Here is sleepy Ferryside. I love the little sandcastle a Small Person has left behind.
As you can see, social distancing is no problem on Llansteffan beach!

Tam and I would have loved to walk around the point, but Keith had gone back to the car, so we left it for another time.
Walking back towards the car park. The wee end-of-terrace blue house on the left is on the market for £375K, which seems an awful lot when its counterpart in town would be about £150K! What you pay for a sea view (with a car park outside your front door). I am guessing it will go as a holiday home . . .
Right, we have a couple of viewings (outside only) lined up, so Tam and I are busy in the garden. It's looking quite good but I have my perfectionist hat on and so still have work to do, and the hall needs tidying and floor scrubbing as the front door will be open. Same down in mum's. I overdid things yesterday so am starting from an energy rating of absolute zero, which is never good. Ah well, I can have a little rest tomorrow afternoon and Friday . . .
I had visitors for a meal yesterday and I too am pretty flaked out today. Just fell asleep over the mid day news - mind you that doesn['t take a lot of doing does it? Good luck with the viewings.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I could fall asleep on the head of a pin, now this instant! At least the garden is done to my satisfaction (improvements can still be made but can wait). Glad you had visitors yesterday - no wonder you were tired today though.
DeleteAh, bet you liked having some sea air to breathe. Good luck with the viewings. Try to pace yourself and not overdo. Harder to rebound these days...at least for me.
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely, and always helps my asthma. I would love to live as close to the sea as we could afford, but my husband wants to be elsewhere. I did sit down in between bouts of tiredness today but boy do I need my bed now. Even a year ago I could do 8 hours in the garden regularly, but I am definitely slowing down now.
DeleteWhat a beautiful gentle quiet beach! I'd love to live in that little blue house. Oceanfront property is always expensive, plus here I pay extra taxes for the private beach and also special hurricane insurance. But I do love it.

The house is pretty small (under 1000 sq ft I'd say). Yes, you pay for the sea air don't you, but this one is fronted by the car park and with a caravan park behind it!! No need for hurricane insurance round here, I'm relieved to say. Flood insurance for many people is a fact of life though. Properties in England are ahead of the game there, as their market opened a month or so ago and the demand for properties with character makes sure they sell within 2 or 3 weeks of being listed! There is a property we like, but the drawback is the fact it is on a hill. We would (when hills become beyond our legs and lungs) have to get in the car to go for a flat walk . . . But there is just nothing else right now and I am looking in several counties. I will miss my garden but it is quite a bit of work.
DeleteLovely to see the quiet beach! That house is expensive for a terraced house. Mind you OH has a friend who lives in a terraced house in Reading which is so small but it is worth a fortune as you can commute to London! Good luck with the viewings.
ReplyDeleteMost of the beaches round here are very quiet an bit enough that you can get away from other visitors. I know price is regulated by demand - you would pay the same amount for a large cupboard in London as you would for that blue house on the beach!

ReplyDeleteWe are spoilt here and I am loathe to move away from the the seaside, but my husband and I have decided on Herefordshire if we can find what we want there when we've sold.

DeleteWhen we lived in Dorset - no jellyfish. Here in Wales - lots! I guess they come up from warmer climes.
Good luck with the viewings, strange times for selling a house, but it seems at the moment there has been a bit of a rise in prices, so you never know! Also good luck with the house hunting, I know you have been trying to move for a long time now.
ReplyDeleteThat is a crazy price for that little cottage. There is no way I would buy somewhere with a carpark at the front and caravan park behind regardless of views or accessibility to a beach.
