. . . and ready to go. Just having a cuppa and some breakfast and I need to be down on the showground for 7 a.m. and can't leave until 6 p.m. Have Keith's stock in the car and his mobility scooter. Tam will bring him down later.
Pippi in full "look-at-me" yowl!!Bug-wise - a slightly productive cough, nose needs blowing now and again - inclined to think it is tree pollen. I will forgive the trees their pollen as if you ever stand under one in bloom, you will hear the tree absolutely thrumming with bees (our huge old Sycamore was yesterday).
I'll check back in on Monday, which will be a Rest Day here!
Good Luck for an enjoyable and profitable day. Jan Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Jan. Not as busy as usual, and trade slow, but a good day overall.
DeleteWishing you a great weekend of selling. The bookshop is on for its best ever month since we opened five years ago so people are spending again I think. I’m cycling to the next village for a plant and bake sale this morning (18 years of cycling to the allotment means I can transport small plants by bike) while S goes for a cycle with a friend, then we’re all going to have an early lunch together and I’m working this afternoon. Tomorrow and Sunday is the garden trail and all the money raised goes to the upkeep of our ancient village church. Yesterday we had a meeting to fine tune the plans for our next fundraising effort in June. It’s all go but I love being part of a thriving village. It can be hard work but the rewards in terms of local friendships and feeling part of the community are worth it. The fulling mill is a rare survivor and it was very prescient of the reclusive owner to bequeath the property to Cat Welfare Sussex (not the CPL as I thought). I should write about it as there is very little online, just its Listed Building entry and a short piece about it on the Cat Welfare site. CWS have rethatched the building and made it structurally safe and gently tidied the outside space but otherwise it remains as it was from around the 1920s. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteWe have some lovely neighbours to chat to at the Fair, and met some nice customers too. I bet you didn't come back from the Plant sale empty-handed! I am going to treat myself to something to put in the garden this week - and some compost too, for my raised beds. The Fulling Mill sounds an absolute delight - I hate it when folk come in and gut and absolutely ruin ancient buildings.
DeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteThe tree pollen has been getting at me too! Just stocked up on antihistamines
With the ear thing starting up yesterday, I think it is A Bug of Some Sort! It seems inclined to linger as well, so not fun on a working weekend.
DeleteTake lots of inspiring photos at the fair/ market, pls. Glad you are ok and can go.
ReplyDeleteOK Lizzy, will do.
DeleteHave a good weekend..no sooner does tree pollen finish than Rapeseed fields start....gah!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo Rapeseed round here and as far as I know I'm not allergic to it.
DeletePippi is definitely 'Miss Personality!'
ReplyDeleteIs she ever?! The smallest and LOUDEST of the litter!
