Distracted

Apologies for no post today.  I got distracted first thing with Devon Inquests and have been working on bits and pieces to do with Family History.  I've also done the shopping, had a short walk and watched yesterday's racing from the Cheltenham Festival.  I shall be back to normal again tomorrow, and post about visiting Jerash.

  1. We love watching Cheltenham, never bet on a race and my heart is always in my mouth if a horse goes down, sadly one fatality today. OH's Grandad was a real horse racing fanatic and my engagement ring was partly paid for with some of his winnings, he didn't have long to live then and kind of wanted to be part of everything. I managed to get some plants out into my raised beds, its beginning to look like a garden. Xx

    1. I've had plenty of bets down the years, and some good "hunch" winners too. Keith used to follow form and was quite good with winners on the flat. I hate to see horses fall too, especially when you can see they have broken something. I can only relate it to it being that horse's time - just the same as the ones involved in RTA's, field accidents, being cast in the box, fatal colics, cancers, what have you. I've always followed steeplechasing, ever since mum and I used to watch it on the TV when I was a kid. Glad you have some plantings in your raised beds now. It will soon start to come together and look lovely this summer.

  2. I love to imagine these ancient ruins in their heydaay, with evryday people and life.

Can't wait to see the new antique quilts!
