Busy doing nothing . . . ahem! Evening Aquilegias

 You know me - meant to be taking life easy after the Fair, and with my lower back still complaining no end . . .  Anyway, I had to look for something in the boxes as Danette was interested in it.  Of course it was in the LAST box I checked.  Then I thought whilst I was about it, I may as well start putting them away - just dragging them over the floor rather than lifting.  Of course, once I got them in my special storage area, I had to stack them up a bit so lifting was necessary.  I had already had to sort out the Utility area which looked like a bomb had hit it and put the boxes in there back in place as I couldn't reach the washing machine to use it and I had two lots of washing to do.

I did sit outside at my new little table and chairs with lunch and later a cold drink and a book, so I have rested.  Then after my evening meal I thought I had better water round, and dammit, I was finally going to plant poor Rambling Rosie who had been roughing it in a bucket of water for about 10 days, waiting for me to get my act together.  So she is in now, planted near the big stump, so she can ramble over that.

I bought myself a Sage plant today - looks so pretty in flower, being one of the Salvia family (officianalis).  Sorry it doesn't show up well in evening light and against the chunks of the old mansion behind it (door surrounds). I used to have a huge Nepeta in here, thinking the cats would sniff it and leave it alone but no, it became Ghengis' favourite BED!

I also planted the Petunias I had in little pots on my stand to brighten up dark corners.

This is a pretty white Aquilegia which starts of a sort of lime green - though the light wrong to show that on my camera.

My Clematis montana is starting to take off and is so pretty.  The Azalea "Fireworks" in the front is gorgeous and I'm so glad I treated myself.

This Norah Barlow Aquilegia stowed away in a pot at Ynyswen and has appeared here now.

Stuff in pots (all watered round now) and colonising Aquilegias from seed from Ynyswen.  William Guinness, some lilacy ones, some nearly black ones and also the deep blue and purple large-flowered wild ones which were here beneath the membrane I removed from the bank, and have now arrived in the gravel.

I also took myself to task to quickly pot on the two yellow Tomato plants I got at the car boot sale yesterday as they were in tiny pots and very potbound and dried out easily.  I planted the Courgette and gave that a healthy surrounding of old muck heap.  So, progress.

Oh, and I also made a swift batch of Blueberry Muffins to take to my friend Pam's tomorrow, as she's doing me a couple of sarnies for lunch. I am going to whizz into Carmarthen first, to get a new cordless strimmer, then to Pam's, then to quilting for the first time in about 7 weeks I think.

Now, time to collapse in a heap.
