You will just have to enjoy the views tonight, as I've had a long day and it's nearly 8.45 and I haven't sat down to unwind yet! Above is the view up and across our valley.
This pond was nearly empty in the summer as the farm had run water off for the cattle - the fish in it just had to make the best of the couple of feet of muddy water that was left.
My favourite view with the top of the hedge opposite in the way!
Next bit along behind Black Mountain (header photo) - these are the uplands in front of Brynamman. To the left you can just about pick out two big stone cairns (Bronze Age).
Black Mountain again.
The two cairns and the uplands again.
A similar view!
Across the Towy Valley.
This is a new one - they are creeping nearer (wind turbines that is).
Finally, a sign of spring in autumn - the hazel catkins have already formed.
Beautiful views you have. Also I can imagine breathing in the clean air!
ReplyDeleteIt is very clean air - we have ferns growing on the oak trees here and you only get that with clear air. We're about 3 miles from the A40 and 5 from the dual carriageway which eventually turns into motorway at Pont Abraham. We do have fabulous views - just about every walk has a great view somewhere along it.
DeleteWow! Breathtaking views, for sure! The turbines are an eye sore, for sure, but we all love the luxuries that go with electrical power.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking indeed Chip. The turbines unfortunately are not that efficient. Certainly if they were just for folk as we live here, 1/4 mile or so between each farm, they could probably generate sufficient energy if we had one each, but on a practical level with millions and millions of people in the country, they make little difference at all. I am all for alternative energy supplies, but these desecrate the countryside for no great benefit.
DeleteBeautiful photos !!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marlane. It's hard to take a boring one with such lovely views locally.
DeleteYou have such lovely views.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks Jackie. We are so blessed living in such a beautiful area.
DeleteThe way the sun catches different angles because of the hills is wonderful. Your photos are beautiful and make me want to travel there straight away
ReplyDeleteKettle's on Sue - you're always welcome to come and stay.
Deletelovely views. I'm afraid mine are all hiding behind clouds and rain at the moment,so its good to see yours!
ReplyDeleteI hope you got the sunshine today gz. We had a long spell of rainy days after the hot hot summer, so it's nice to see the sun back again.
DeleteOh so beautiful!!! Such wonderful views. Thanks for sharing ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteHello again Lorraine. There are pretty well views wherever I walk although all the ones looking Eastwards are of the mountains of course.
DeleteStunning views and wonderful photos. You do live in such a scenic area and must make every walk a joy :)
ReplyDeleteI have done so little walking this summer, that any jaunt is such a joy. I managed to do something to a ligament in my left foot - got out of bed and took a wrong step - and driving (clutch control) has stopped it healing, so I've not been able to walk much ALL summer and now the autumn too.
