Elder blossom and a Malvern day

I'll write in the morning - tired out now as up at 5 a.m. and on the road before 6.  A long day, but so enjoyable.  Caught up with friends, and someone else told me I looked so much better (must be the lippie) and I also got told I was beautiful by a friend!  Blimey!!  Happy to be told that :) but it was probably the cake I bribed him with . . .

All sorts of oddball things came home with me.  I was on a colour match run again (not intentionally but stuff just turned up).

This Deco pot (unsigned) was such a joyful colourway and I couldn't resist it.

Right, time to sit down with a glass of wine.  Should round the day off nicely.

  1. Hmmm.…your pot has a look of Beswick about it…

    1. Agreed, but not marked on base. I thought it had a Crown Devon look, but I guess they all went a similar way with designs in the period.

    1. Very happy. It was a really great day out. Very busy there, and some good house clearance stalls for once - not the absolutely desperate stands with nothing worth looking at which happened last time when it was raining.

  3. I wouldn't have been able to resist that pot either. I love a bit of deco and the colours are beautiful.

    1. It was certainly the right price and "had a look" . . .

  4. I thought Crown Devon too, but as you say that was the look of the 1930s. Somehow I think a real Crown Devon piece would not be blurring the blue and green (which I too think is joyful) with the spilt porridge texture! So pleased to hear you had such a good day with compliments and wine to boot!

    1. I've found several others in different glazes which are stamped Crown Devon, but one on Etsy says is is Flaxman ware . . . a 3-eared ball vase is what they call that style. Collectable!

  5. It sounds like a good day all round. It's nice to be tired after a good day rather than a bad one isn't it. 🙂

    1. Yes, right now I just want to crawl back into bed (having made it up with fresh bedding - the new navy waffle set, which is so soft). Need to plod on though.

I'm glad you had a good day out, though.

    1. Haha! Yes, it was a great day out and I really enjoyed it, and stopped to bother Ashperton church on the way home.
