This is bad timing, really bad timing. I have tried to get stuff together to pack for the Fair, but have zilch energy and when I had lunch, I suddenly felt sick. Brain isn't in residence either. Gabby will be here soon, and she is going to be here all day tomorrow to help me load and set up. Meanwhile, I just want to curl up on the sofa with Time Team on in the background.
Meanwhile Danny has got a replacement car, from the garage who have done his repairs on the old one. Has full service record, is 10 years old, and has new tyres, new MoT and 12 month guarantee.
We have had a couple of nearly-new cars, but Keith wouldn't buy from new and replace every 3 years because of the tax on them not making it worth while, although of course you don't have to have MoT's or worry about expensive repairs. Generally though, we simply couldn't afford it. Danny's in the same boat.
So, resting up now and hoping I feel better tomorrow. I will blame Wonderwool - last year I came back with a nasty fluey-cold.
Oh no really bad timing, I really hope it's nothing and you are back to fully fit tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Feel better. I was out doing errans yesterday and just cringing evrytime I saw a person wearing a mask.
ReplyDeleteI have only had new cars, three years [salt air, floods, rust, sand blown into engines/ paint damage] but sometimes feel like I am discarding a beautiful new car. There's a couple Jeeps I had that I still regret. My dad always had an ''extra' vintage car, part of his bucket list of life; they were always pristine and ran perfectly. But he was an accomplished car mechanic and body worker/ painter. Not a hobby for amateurs. Glad Danny is sorted now tho.
Hope you bounce back for the Fair.

I know I'm probably preaching to the choir, but you are keeping yourself hydrated in this heat, aren't you? In this kind of heat, I always make sure I check off on my calendar my daily intake of fluid. My flash new water bottle holds 750 ml. so the equivalent of a bottle of wine, but it keeps me in control of remembering how much I've consumed.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I do hope you feel better very soon. I am glad that Danny has a vehicle now.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I hope you'll soon be feeling better and that the new car behaves itself for Danny.
ReplyDeleteMiserable news about you feeling ill. But then all those people at Wonderwool must be trailing some viruses. Danny is lucky to have the car, is it his permanently?
