On the left, a Hoopoe. This is the bird I finally saw in Jordan, having waited a lifetime to see one.
The cutest little bed and tiny hexi quilt, on my friend M's stand.
An advertising horse I would think.
Part of the display of old carvings (15th C onwards) on friend P's stand.
Literally, a "step" ladder to get into a loft - probably a hay loft. Love it.
Photos of my stand tomorrow. I need to get sorted here - load Keith's militaria, the huge coopered Belgian or French jug which we have used as a stick stand for years, but really no longer need, and I have to go and get some lunch as it's expensive buying on the showground - something like £7.50 for a burger and £4 for a handful of chips.
Meanwhile, one to go on with. Isn't this plaster maquette of the heavy horse absolutely fabulous?
Tam, Jon and Rosie are coming down to look round the Fair and help as necessary.
I think you've mentioned the treen trader from Bideford before. He really does have some splendid pieces doesn't he? No wonder you're impressed.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite smitten with that miniature bed and quilts. I don't think I'd have been asking how much. I'd have just said, who do I make the cheque out to? Note that anybody probably take a cheque these days, which is rather sad, but there we are. Times are what they are. I also rather like that step ladder too.
Hope you're feeling better today and hope you're doing well. Be better to come back home with an empty car wouldn't it?
What fabulous items! Which fair is this, again?
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding time to post! I hope you re feeling ok.
ReplyDeleteI love the treen stand, esp the sewing thread caddy/ pinkeep. It's beautifully made. And the step ladder is so interesting, I am trying to imagine how it worked. Hope lots sells. Tomorrow maybe pack your lunch and drinks, snacks, thermos of tea?
That step ladder is a marvel. I mean, it must have taken longer to cut out those steps than it would have to slap a regular one together. That little shepherd's hut is wonderful too. I also like the benches to that table. I think that I would get into a great deal of trouble at your fair!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was labour intensive making it. It's almost a work of art. No need to replace rungs later on though, so perhaps that's why they opted for that design. Not too much to tempt me this time though, but there was one picture I liked - but not the price - £450.
DeleteOhh, what a lovely step ladder!!! and the treen stand is gorgeous. So many interesting objects to look at. I hope you do well selling.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Lots to see. I only showed the better bits!
DeleteOh that shepherds hut!! The child in me would have loved it ... so the adult that I am would have bought it, and a lot of the gorgeous wooden bowls. :-)
