Having beavered away all week on house, yard and garden, we had our viewing yesterday. They liked it, and mentioned several of the benefits of its situation. They have lived in a nearby county for 20 years so aren't dreamers. They have some more houses to see, of course, so fingers crossed.
My dearly beloved had to man the stand at the Fleamarket yesterday as I came back after setting it all up. The vacuum had packed up the day before and there was more vacuuming to be done once it had been de-fluffed internally but after a 14 hour day on Saturday, I just had to leave it until the next day. I have clocked up some mileage this past week - my Fitbit tells me 109K. 17K and 18K most days, just around the house and garden!
I have gone from sleeping well to a couple of nights of only sleeping 3 or 4 hours before waking up again - so much on my mind at the moment. Ah well, I can concentrate on the garden now the house is ship-shape.
We can only wait and see now. We will hear by Friday, the viewers told us.

This time - perhaps. The wife did say something about some houses getting under your skin (or words to that effect). At least they were OK about the farm next door, and liked the closeness to the A48/M4 (for when he had to go to London). We will see.

ReplyDeletelover living next to a farm is a bonus.
I think the trouble is that people moving to Wales seem to have this idea of farms being a bit like the Cotswolds or something from Countryfile, and they get a rude awakening when they find that there is mud, cow embellishments and sometimes cows mooing . . .

ReplyDeleteI can't keep doing this Tricia. I put so much into trying to present the house (and when possible, garden too) as well as possible. This time the house conspired against me and we discovered two tiles had been blown off in the gales, unnoticed by us, and the water had seeped into a gable end wall which now has to be hacked off and replaced with lime plaster. Roof is being sorted as soon as our builder has finished limewashing a wall where he's working at the moment.

ReplyDeleteI read somewhere they if you have lots on your mind, then it is best to write it all down an hour before going to bed, this helps to clear the mind and hopefully give a good nights rest.
It does help. When I was fretting the other night I got up and wrote down the things I had to remember, so at least I stopped worrying about those bits. Something else (unchangable, family-orientated) is worrying me though.

ReplyDeleteYes, "eventually" is the word Thelma. We first came on the market (badly advised and overpriced) 10 years ago. It's not as if we are on the edge of a blardy CLIFF or anything!
